Cantor Philip Goldstein

Philip Goldstein is serving full- time as the Cantor and Spiritual Leader at Congregation Shirat Shalom. He has resided in Las Vegas for over forty years, graduating from Valley High School and attending the University of Nevada- Las Vegas where he studied music theory. He has also studied acting and singing in Los Angeles and NY as well as playing the drums and piano.

 

Cantor Philip has served the Las Vegas Jewish community for over 15 years as the Cantorial Soloist at Congregation Ner Tamid, Temple Beth Sholom and has worked with Bet Knesset Bamidbar for its High Holydays services.

 

He attended Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati for some of his Jewish music and liturgical studies and is always continuing his studies. He has also attended classes and studied with Cantor Nate Lam, Cantor Ben Steinberg and Cantor Jeremy Lipton. Cantor Philip has numerous show business credits from stage, television, radio and movies (he has been performing since the age of eight.) He has appeared on stage in many musicals from London to Los Angeles and was the principal lead singer for twelve years in “Jubilee” at Bally’s and the MGM Grand. Cantor Philip has appeared in numerous Broadway musicals, including the Los Angeles productions of “My Fair Lady” (as Freddy) and “The Unsinkable Molly Brown” (as the Prince). Cantor Philip’s movie appearances include “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery”, “Con-Air, and “Vegas Vacation.” He has is also appeared in numerous television shows and one commercial voice-over work. Philip is married to his beautiful wife Rhonda. Congregation Shirat Shalom invites the entire Las Vegas/Henderson community to come hear Cantor Philip's tenor voice at Shabbat services.
